The Institute for Advanced Biological Studies, Inc.[1] (IABS) was an American nonprofit cryonics research organization founded by Steve Bridge (president) and Mike Darwin.[2][3] It was incorporated in Indianapolis in 1977.[3] IABS relocated to California in 1981, and merged with the Alcor Life Extension Foundation in 1982.[3]

IABS published The IABS Newsletter (later named to Cryonics).[4]
