Burr hole

From Cryonics Wiki

Burr holes are drilled in the skull of a cryonics patient by a neurosurgical tool called a perforator to monitor when the brain shrinks (normal response) or swells in response to cryoprotective perfusion.[1] After the perfusion, the burr holes are filled with bone wax and the incisions are closed with staples.[1]
