Life Extension Society

From Cryonics Wiki
Not to be confused with the Biomedical Research and Longevity Society (the former Life Extension Foundation) or the 1992 incorporated Life Extension Society.

The Life Extension Society (LES) was the first cryonics organization in the world. It was founded by Evan Cooper in Washington, D.C. in December 1963.[1] LES published a newsletter called Freeze-Wait-Reanimate.[2] LES ceased to exist near the end of the 1960s.

An organization with the same name and similar objectives was incorporated in Maryland in 1992.[3]
